The mysterious lost suitor of King Sturge

24/02/2011

It almost has all the hallmarks of a classic Agatha Christie novel – WHO is buying King Sturge?

Rumours that King Sturge was in play started three weeks ago and have continued unabated ever since with the KS management apparently doing little to dampen the flames.

The saga probably raises more questions than answers. Why are they selling? Who can afford them? Is it the right time to sell? Will there be an overlap with the purchaser’s network?

On Property week’s Midweek Bulletin stalwarts Giles Barrie and James Whitmore went through a list of possible suitors – their conclusion was that it is unlikely the ANY deal will be struck.

The whole episode is dragging down the good name of King Sturge which has survived the downturn remarkably well. It is also unsettling for it’s excellent staff who deserve better.
