Surveying giants in merger talks

18/05/2011

Jones Lang LaSalle and King Sturge are in merger talks according to media reports.

After weeks of speculation, Property Week finally broke the story that the two firms are in talks over a deal which would see global services provider JLL buy out the largely UK based counterpart  King Sturge.

If the deal goes ahead it will bring to a close months of speculation about the future of King Sturge, which also courted CBRE and more latterly Cushman & Wakefield – if the grapevine is anything to go on.

A JLL/King Sturge merger would bring together many complementary skillsets and  create the biggest firm in the UK by agency turnover. King Sturge is strong in investment, industrial, valuation and the regions. Jones Lang is a global player strong in corporate real estate, retail, offices and, most importantly at present, all things London.
