Uno de 50 To Open First UK Store On Regent Street

February 27, 2015

Spanish jeweller Uno de 50 is set to launch its first store in the UK at 143 Regent Street after agreeing a 10 year lease with The Crown Estate.

The brand will occupy a 1,250 sq. ft. unit, showcasing its distinctive range of handcrafted jewellery on London’s premier shopping Street.  The flagship store is scheduled to open in April 2015.

Katerina Mercury, Asset Manager for The Crown Estate’s Regent Street Portfolio said: “Uno de 50 will make a fantastic addition for shoppers, complimenting Regent Street’s world class line-up of fashion and accessories retailers. Following in the footsteps of Hunter, & Other Stories, Karl Lagerfeld and Piquadro, all of which opened their first UK flagships here, Uno de 50’s decision emphasises Regent Street’s position as the number one destination for successful global retailers looking to launch their brands in this country.”

Founded in the late 1990’s, Uno de 50 now has over 100 stores worldwide, with locations including Paris, Milan, Barcelona and New York. With a focus on manufacturing unique, high quality pieces, Uno de 50 started out by creating only 50 units of each design – a business model which inspired the brand’s name. Whilst the Uno de 50 has grown over time, the spirit of craftsmanship and exclusivity which is at the core of the brand’s identity has been retained in the pieces created today, which are renowned for their flare and innovation.

Jose Azulay, Owner and President of Uno de 50, said: “Regent Street’s global reputation for quality, heritage, style and success is synonymous with our own values, which is why this was the perfect location for us to open our first UK store. We’re looking forward to bringing the spirit of craftsmanship which inspired the creation of Uno de 50 to this iconic part of London’s West End.”

Uno de 50 joins an impressive line-up of jewellery and accessories retailers already operating flagship stores on Regent Street including Omega, Watches of Switzerland, FolliFollie, Liberty and Mappin & Webb.

The addition of another UK first to Regent Street’s retail line-up reflects the on-going success of The Crown Estate’s £1bn regeneration programme which began in 2002. Over the past 12 years The Crown Estate has been redeveloping historic blocks to create high quality modern retail and office space behind Regent Street’s iconicfacades. This investment has seen Regent Street transformed into one of the world’s most popular shopping, leisure and business destinations, which counts a wide range of successful global retailers, restaurateurs and companies amongst its tenants.

CBRE advised The Crown Estate and Kitchen La Frenais Morgan advised Uno de 50.
