Miss World presents Sol Kerzner with ‘PROPS’ Lifetime Achievement Award

May 26, 2010

The Variety Club Children’s Charity annual Property Awards, “the PROPS”, this year hosted by comedian Omid Djalili, were presented in front of a packed audience at the London Hilton on the 18th May.

South African property and casino magnate Sol Kerzner was handed the Lifetime Achievement Award by Miss World, Kaiane Aldorino, in front of 800 guests including sporting legends Lawrence Dallagio and Duncan Goodhew.

Founded in 1992 by Neil Sinclair and Ronnie Nathan, the PROPS recognises individuals and companies that have excelled in the property industry and raises funds for the Variety Club’s Easy Riders Wheelchair Programme. Over the years more than £6m has been raised and this year’s success at the awards lunch was no different with over a quarter of a million pounds raised over the afternoon and more than £425,000 in total.

The fundraising appeal was made even greater by special guest and PROPS Ambassador Matthew King, who was paralysed in a rugby accident and has recently gained an honours degree in law despite his disability. He thanked guests for their generosity over previous years and urged them to again dig deep to help others in a similar position to himself.

The PROPS award winners are listed below:
