Fashion brand Luke 1977 is to open its second UK store at St David’s, in the heart of Cardiff. With brands such as Hollister, Hugo Boss, Kurt Geiger and John Lewis’s legion of designers, St David’s has established itself as Wales’ premier fashion destination.
Luke 1977, whose fashions can be seen on numerous celebrities including David Beckham and the Kaiser Chiefs, will open a 1,666 sq ft shop, its first in Wales, close to other fashion stores Republic and Hollister.
Joanne Skilton, of Capital Shopping Centres (CSC), on behalf of St David’s Partnership, the joint venture between CSC and Land Securities, said: “The newest, most in demand, fashion brands such as Luke want to open in St David’s as they know they will be in one of the UK’s best locations to showcase their brand. St David’s has taken Cardiff into the top tier of fashion retailing.”
Luke Roper, founder of Luke 1977, said: “The United Kingdom of Luke is coming to Wales, and we know that St David’s is a great location for our supporters to come and get some “Luke” therapy; after all Luke 1977 is for the modern lad, a gentleman, a working class hero & a bit of a rogue!’.”
E J Hales, Lunson Mitchenall and Cushman & Wakefield are the letting agents for St David’s. Hartnell Taylor Cook LLP represented Luke 1977.
