Bob Martin FRICS, Group Head of Property at NFU Mutual, is leaving at the end of this month (June) after almost 30 years in order to set up his own company, Martin Commercial Properties Limited, based in Cheltenham. The company will specialise in property asset management and development advice and also plans to undertake a limited number of commercial property developments in its own right or through joint ventures.
NFU Mutual has appointed Bob as Property Consultant to its £1b fund and has also retained him as Chairman of Salmon Harvester Properties and the £150m SHP Opportunity Fund with a mandate to help grow both businesses over the next three years. Bob Martin says “both SHP and the SHP Opportunity Fund have a great future with secured long term backing from NFU Mutual and I am very excited at the prospect of working more closely with the team to help them develop their plans going forward”.
Richard Topps MRICS, currently Property Investment Manager at NFU Mutual, is taking over as Group Head of Property with effect from the 1st July. He takes over responsibility not only for the property investment fund but also NFU Mutual’s operational estate of over 1 million sq ft throughout the UK.
