Nafield Properties, the joint venture between Turnstone Estates and Burall Developments has secured its fourth tenant at its new office and R&D development Broers Building in Cambridge.
An internet based educational charity is taking 5,878 sq ft of space on the third floor on a five-year lease with a tenant break clause in year three. It will pay a rent of £27.50 per sq ft.
Chris Goldsmith of Nafield Properties said: “To attract a tenant such as this shows the huge draw of the Broers Building as a prestigious site and further strengthens our list of clients who have now taken space in the building.”
The charity joins European patent and trademark attorneys HLBBshaw Group, molecular biology, single photon detection and nanotechnology specialists Base 4 Innovation and Nokia who already have research facilities at the site.
The 42,219 sq ft Broers Building forms part of the Hauser Forum at the West Cambridge Research and Development Park at the University of Cambridge. Following the latest letting there remains 25,180 sq ft of space to let in the four floor building which is available to let for organisations engaged in the field of commercial research and development. Construction completed on the site in November 2009 and the site was formally launched in February last year.
Other elements comprise a central cafe for the West Cambridge site and a building housing Cambridge Enterprise.
Bidwells and Januarys represented Nafield Properties. Dodson Jones advised the tenant.
