Garden Centre Online Grows at Highcross’ Old Dalby Park

March 29, 2011

Online garden superstore, Garden Centre Online, has taken 34,056 sq ft of warehouse/distribution space at Highcross’ Old Dalby Business Park, near Melton Mowbray.

The company, which retails and distributes more than 5,000 garden products, previously occupied an 8,722 sq ft unit at the Park.

Highcross has let Units 2 A&B to Garden Centre Online on a three year lease. The company will be using the space for storage and distribution and also has its buying, finance and website teams based at the scheme.

Wendy Slater of Garden Centre Online commented: “Following our acquisition by Flying Brands last year, we are providing storage and distribution services for other divisions within the group, in addition to our garden business and this has created a need for additional space. The Old Dalby Business Park has been a good location for our business and we are pleased to be expanding further here.”

The 39-acre Old Dalby Business Park is located within easy reach of Leicester, Nottingham and Loughborough, and provides a wide range of manufacturing and warehouse space, from 16,000 sq ft to 102,000 sq ft.

Highcross asset manager, Joe Curlett comments: “This significant expansion by Garden Centre Online is great news and we are delighted to have been able to provide the additional space at Old Dalby Business Park to facilitate their growth.”

Agents for Old Dalby Business Park are Andrew and Ashwell.
