Exclusive high end gentlemen’s’ fashion accessories brand Drakes of London is to open its first ever standalone store after signing a deal with The Pollen Estate, advised by Kitchen La Frenais Morgan and Drivers Jonas Deloitte.
The retailer will open a 636 sq ft store at 3 Clifford Street in London’s W1 paying a rent of £80,000 PA.
The property was the subject of numerous bids but Pollen chose Drakes as a retailer having synergy with its strategy for Savile Row offering British products with design and style, as well as excellence in materials, workmanship and service.
The gentlemen’s specialist has been hand making premium accessories – such as shirts, ties, socks and small leather goods – in the centre of London since 1977 and promises that its new store will deliver the same Savile Row quality to Clifford Street. The new store will include an area dedicated to the in-store hand production of ties and scarves, just as the company does in its Clerkenwell design workshop.
Drakes already supplies to traditional tailors such as Huntsman and Anderson & Sheppard in London and progressive high fashion stores such as Dover Street Market.
