Mothercare Secures Isle Of Wight Out Of Town Store

June 13, 2011

Cheval Property Advisers, advised by Edgerley Simpson Howe, has let an out of town retail unit near Newport, Isle of Wight to Mothercare.

The retailer has taken an 8,460 sq ft store (Unit 4A) on Carisbrooke Retail Park, to the west of Newport, on a new 10-year lease and will pay a stepped rent averaging £17.60 over the first five years.  Mothercare are relocating from their high street stores in Newport town centre in July this year.

The property was previously occupied by Island Premier Beds who vacated a larger store last year prior to the unit being subdivided and refurbished.  The adjoining sub-unit (Unit 4B) of 9,415 sq ft is now available and being marketed jointly by the landlord’s agents Edgerley Simpson Howe and Gully Howard surveyors.

Other occupiers on the 41,000 sq ft retail park are Argos and Sleepmaster.  Dreams and Carpetright occupy space opposite.

Harvey Spack Field represented Mothercare.
