Value fashion retailer West Coast is to open a new store in Capital Shopping Centres’ (CSC) Victoria Centre, Nottingham, after successful trading of a temporary unit there convinced the retailer to open a permanent store. West Coast plans to more than double its number of stores this year.
The retailer, which sells men’s and women’s fashion and has 28 stores across the UK, will open a 2,088 sq ft store at unit 317 within the Victoria Centre. The store will be situated on the upper mall close to House of Fraser and opposite Disney, Wallis and The Entertainer.
Martin Breeden, director of asset management (north) at CSC London said: “The fact that West Coast performed so well that they are now taking a permanent lease illustrates the strength of trading at the Victoria Centre.”
Raj Sandhu, director of West Coast, said: “We have been in the Victoria Centre on a temporary lease and traded very well. It’s a centre we need to be in as part of our plans to open 30 new stores this year.”
The new letting follows the news earlier this month that CSC has now submitted its plans for the extension of the Victoria Centre to Nottingham City Council.
CSC was represented by Lunson Mitchenall and Brassington Rowan. Lunson Mitchenall also represented West Coast for the Victoria Centre store.
