Ed’s Easy Diner is to open its first restaurant outside of the M25 at St David’s in Cardiff, the centre jointly owned by Capital Shopping Centres (CSC) and Land Securities.
It will open a 1,669 sq ft restaurant within the Eastside catering offer at St David’s which already boasts a range of exciting offers designed to satisfy hungry shoppers in the centre. The new restaurant will open in September and feature 70 internal covers set in the 1950’s décor the chain is famed for.
Ed’s Easy Diner opened its first store in Soho in London nearly twenty five years ago bringing 1950’s American culture to the UK and has since expanded its concept in London and the surrounding areas. It opened in Lakeside, also owned by CSC in July last year.
Joanne Skilton, retail and leasing director of CSC London, on behalf of St David’s Partnership, the joint venture between CSC and Land Securities, said: “Ed’s Easy Diner is a great dining concept that already trades very well in our Lakeside centre and we are sure that it will prove as popular within St David’s. It further extends an already very successful and diverse catering offer within St David’s that later this year will also include Red Hot World Buffet.”
Andrew Guy, operations director at Ed’s Easy Diner, said: “We are delighted to be opening in Cardiff’s magnificent St David’s shopping centre; our first diner in Wales and outside of the south east of England. The city’s already burgeoning culinary scene and an ever increasing public demand for a quality fast-casual dining experience means this is an exciting task.”
The letting agents for St David’s are E J Hales, Lunson Mitchenall and Cushman & Wakefield. Ed’s Easy Diner was represented by Cooke & Arkwright.
