High end fashion retailer Phase Eight and fashion footwear brand Schuh are to both open stores in Watford’s Harlequin Centre, which is owned by Capital Shopping Centres, further strengthening the centre’s fashion offer.
Phase Eight will open a 1,833 sq ft store on the lower mall, adjacent to fellow premium fashion retailers Coast and Karen Millen and opposite TM Lewin and Office.
Schuh meanwhile will open a 3,141 sq ft store on the upper mall, close to fashion retailers Republic, Wallis and Oasis and also to Superdrug. It follows a successful concession that Schuh operated within The Harlequin. The store is due to open in October.
Jonathan Ainsley, director of asset management (south) for CSC London said: “These two new lettings fit perfectly with our retail mix strategy for The Harlequin allowing us to offer our highly affluent Watford catchment both a comprehensive mainstream and a premium fashion offer within the centre which we are continually improving upon.”
Phil Whittle, head of store operations at Schuh said: “After several successful years trading as a concession within Republic in The Harlequin Watford, Schuh decided to open a standalone store. We are excited to be opening the doors of our own store and offer the shoppers of Watford an even bigger selection of the fantastic Schuh range.”
Lunson Mitchenall and CWM are the joint agents for the Harlequin Centre. Leslie Perkins represented Phase Eight and Stalder & Co represented Schuh.
