Redevco Nederland B.V. has purchased a new 650 sq. m. retail development on Spuistraat 46-48 in The Hague from Provast. The development is scheduled to be completed by early 2013.
The project comprises some 650 sq. m. of new retail space, on two floors, and incorporates an imposing ten-metre-wide storefront on Spuistraat. The property is located at the heart of the city’s main A1 shopping street, directly opposite the entrance to the V&D department store.
This new development represents a major contribution by Provast and Redevco, working in close collaboration with the municipality of The Hague, to the revitalisation of the city centre.
Redevco is extremely pleased with this purchase. Clemens Brenninkmeijer, Country Manager for Redevco Nederland, says: “The property will have an optimum size and layout, in a top location on one of the country’s major shopping streets. It is a fantastic long-term addition to our portfolio.”
Work will start on demolishing the existing buildings in early February 2012, with only the monumental façade at Spuistraat 48 being retained. Delivery is scheduled for February 2013.
Frisia Makelaars has been engaged for letting purposes.
