Helios Europe, Shepherd Developments and SEGRO plc have appointed their agency team for the Inland Port development at Doncaster, the largest logistics project of its kind in the UK.
Following an extensive tendering process, CBRE Group, BNP Paribas Real Estate and Gent Visick have been selected to provide marketing and leasing advice for the £400 Million, 5.75 million sq ft scheme which is located at junction 3 of the M18 inDoncaster.
The Inland Port at Rossington, Doncaster will enjoy a unique status, having customs clearance and bonded warehouses on site and will comprise a container rail terminal with linked distribution warehousing plus intermodal facilities, and provide major retailers, manufacturers and third party logistics providers with buildings that have both direct motorway access and direct rail container services both to and from the UK’s major sea ports. Building footprints in excess of 1 million sq ft are possible with flexible expansion options. The site already has outline planning permission which was granted last year.
The site will be accessed by a new link road known as FARRRs which has just been granted an £18 million grant from the Government under the RGF (Regional Growth Fund) programme. This road will link the Inland Port project to the nearby Doncaster Sheffield International Airport. Construction of the road will begin next year.
The trio expects the first buildings to be available for occupation in 2013
