This year’s OAS Summer Ball was held on the evening of Wednesday 4 July at the Cafe de Paris, in the heart of the West End and once again supported charity Sparks.

Given the date of the party (US Independence Day), this year’s theme was Stars and Stripes and most of the 150 guests joined in the fun wearing star spangled outfits of one kind or another.

Chris Mills was outstanding as auctioneer and was ably assisted in part by Sparks ambassador and Welsh rugby legend Colin Charvis.

By the end of the night almost £18,000 was raised for the charity – a phenomenal achievement given such straitened times.

We would like to thank the Matt Willcock, Sarah O’Connell and the Ball Organising Committee, the team from Sparks, the Cafe de Paris and all the sponsors and gift donors.
