The Capitol shopping centre in Cardiff, which is owned by Moorfield Real Estate and managed by Plus Shops Retail, has signed Poundworld to take a new store within the centre.
The single price retailer has signed a 10-year lease and will pay a turnover based rent. Poundworld is taking a unit formerly occupied by fashion retailer Internacionale and is due to open next month.
It follows a number of recent openings for the centre, which have included the second Cardiff store for Pret a Manger and stores for Tesco Metro and easyGym.
Leigh Burnett of Plus Shops Retail, said: “The signing of Poundworld is an important addition to the tenant mix at Capitol, allowing us to create a real point of difference in Cardiff and bringing a strong name, with an equally strong footfall, to The Capitol.”
Chris Edwards Junior, trading director at Poundworld, said; “We’re really delighted to be opening our store in Cardiff, creating 30 new jobs for the city.”
Moorfield Real Estate was represented by Kitchen LaFrenais Morgan and Macarthur Wilson. Poundworld was represented by Francis & Company.
