Domino’s Pizzas is to launch a new dining and takeaway concept in the UK after agreeing a package deal with Extra Motorway Service Area Group to initially open six outlets on the UK motorway network.
Domino’s will offer great quality pizzas and side orders at competitive value for money pricing, within a specially designed kiosk. The introduction of new technology means Domino’s ‘Ready2go’ can deliver the same product customers enjoy on the high street or delivered to their homes, instantly to take away.
Advised by Richard Brown at Plus Shops Retail and Caroline Smith at Harvey Ingram Shakespeares, the fast food operator has leased kiosk units of approximately 14 sq m (150 sq ft) within Extra’s food court buildings at M40 J2 Beaconsfield, A1M J10 Baldock, A14/M11 Cambridge, A1M J17 Peterborough, M5 J28 Cullompton and M65 J4 Blackburn with Darwen motorway service areas. Each lease incorporates base rent and turnover rent provisions.
The first kiosk unit is planned to open early August at Beaconsfield MSA, followed by an agreed programme of openings across the portfolio through August and September this year.
Neil Grice at Grice Collins Long and DWF Solicitors advised Extra. Andrew Long, CEO of Extra MSA Group said “Extra is delighted to be working with Domino’s which we regard as the dominant brand in its sector. The addition of Domino’s to Extra’s food courts will complement the range of substantial and popular brands already represented.”
Julia Poulson, head of property at Domino’s said: “Our mission is to bring pizza to the people where and when they want it. Opening stores in Extra Service Areas is a great way to help us take that mission to the next level.”
