Jansons Property has received detailed planning consent for a 39,817 sq ft retail and leisure redevelopment at Basingstoke Road, Reading.

The £11m scheme will include an Aldi supermarket (16,512 sq ft), a Pure Gym (16,305 sq ft) and a Greene King pub (7,000 sq ft).

The three-acre site at 350 Basingstoke Road is adjacent to a Morrisons supermarket and currently occupied by two vacant office buildings, totalling 60,000 sq ft.

Work is due to start on the project in January 2015 with completion expected by the autumn.

Director, Andy Jansons, comments: “The new retail and leisure outlets will bring additional choice, employment and facilities to the local area, as well as improving the appearance of the site from Basingstoke Road.”

Rapleys and Haslams advised Jansons.
