Jansons Property-subsidiary Tropic Estates Ltd has submitted a detailed planning application for the £11m re-development of a prominent site in the centre of Wokingham, Berkshire.
The proposed scheme includes three retail units, totalling 140 sq m (1,500 sq ft) and 39 one and two-bedroom flats on a 0.18 hectare (0.44 acre site).
Situated on the corner of Peach Street and Cross Street, the site is currently occupied by a two storey building with 1,153 sq m (12,400 sq ft) of vacant office space, three empty retail units at ground floor level and three two-bedroom flats.
Jansons Property is proposing to demolish the existing building and replace it with a new build scheme comprising 31 two-bedroom flats, 8 one-bedroom flats, a ground floor concierge office and new retail units. The plans also include parking for 36 cars and 76 cycle spaces as well as new landscaping to improve the frontage onto Peach Street, which will also be widened.
Jansons Property acquired the site in May 2013.
