Turnstone Estates has submitted a planning application to East Cambridgeshire District Council for a 47,000 sq ft leisure development in Ely.
Located at the junction of the A10 and Downham Road, the £16 million Ely Leisure Village will comprise a six-screen Cineworld cinema, a Frankie & Benny’s, Hungry Horse and three other restaurants and two drive-thru’s.
If planning permission is granted then it is envisaged that construction work will begin in late Summer 2015 and the cinema/restaurants will open in mid-2016.
Tim Deacon, Development Director at Turnstone Estates, said: “Ely Leisure Village will provide much-needed leisure and entertainment amenities for the city and a wide catchment area of East Cambridgeshire.”
Turnstone Estates is being advised by Carter Jonas and Wareing & Partners.
