Salmon Harvester Properties will commence demolition and main building contract preparation work at its £17.5 million Mulberry Park retail development next week. Having acquired the site from administrators PwC and with Marks & Spencer and Boots already signed up as tenants, Salmon is moving swiftly to commence building work, with completion scheduled for August 2016.
Rorie Henderson, Development Director at Salmon Harvester Properties commented: “This is a superb development opportunity in a much sought after location. We are appointing a demolition contractor this week, will be closing the car park next week and commence preliminary demolition works. The main contractor will also be shortlisted imminently and will start on site in August.”
The scheme has planning consent for a 68,624 sq ft retail led development on the 2.73 acre site. Marks & Spencer have signed a 20 year lease on a 16,178 sq ft food store and Boots has agreed a10 year lease for a 3,544 sq ft unit. In addition Greene King, operating as Old Speckled Hen, has committed to a new 10 year lease for its existing 4,500 sq ft unit.
Rorie added: “We are in discussions with a number of exciting restaurant and retailer names and hope to be in a position very soon to announce which operators will be coming to Mulberry Walk.”
