SALMON HARVESTER OPPORTUNITY FUND TO CONVERT BIRMINGHAM OFFICE BUILDING TO FLATS

October 23, 2015

The Salmon Harvester Opportunity Fund (SHOF) is converting a vacant office building in the heart of Birmingham city centre into 55 flats.

The fund is using permitted development legislation to create a modern and attractive residential scheme from the 25,000 sq ft 11-storey office block at 1 Swallow Street. The £8m project is located within 250m of the new Grand Central shopping centre.

Matthew Meaden, Fund Manager at SHOF, said: ”We have successfully used the Permitted Development legislation to quickly and efficiently gain consent. We are taking a redundant out of date office building, for which there was no occupier demand, and created much needed residential accommodation.”

All the flats will be one-bedroom and will ready for occupation in Spring next year.

The project has been designed by Birmingham architects Associated Architects, Quantum Construction is the main contractor and the project manager is Projex.
