TPS Abbeydale Properties, advised by Paul Belchak & Co and Richard Susskind, has agreed a deal with well-known hospitality entrepreneur Gerry Calabrese, for a new concept, high end rotisserie and cocktail bar ‘The Holy Birds’ on Middlesex Street, E1.
Holy Birds will open at 94 Middlesex Street, Spitalfields this month. Gerry Calabrese is known for opening the Hoxton Pony, Hoxton Gin, Baroque at the Playboy Club, Wringer and Mangle and INK on Leicester Square, a collaboration with Brit rapper Professor Green.
The 9,623 sq ft bar and restaurant occupies a prominent position close to the junction with Bishopsgate and just a few minutes from Liverpool Street Station. The ground floor and basement unit is part of a Victorian warehouse and has the benefit of a Live Music Premises License.
Oli Cohen at Paul Belchak & Co commented: “Gerry is an innovator in the bar and club scene and The Holy Birds will plug a gap in the Shoreditch market for high quality rotisserie at ground floor level, with music, cocktails and a late license in the basement.
“The deal follows on from our letting on Middlesex Street to Vital Ingredient. Both demonstrate a vast improvement in the tenant profile within the area. We had a higher than anticipated number of offers on the table. Rents in this area are only going one way for the foreseeable future.”
