HARPER DENNIS HOBBS RETAINED TO IDENTIFY MULTIPLE SUITABLE SITES
FROM WHICH THE LEARNING EXPERIENCE CAN MEET GROWING DEMAND
FOR HIGH-QUALITY EARLY LEARNING OFFERINGS
The Learning Experience®, one of America’s fastest growing Academies of Early Education for children six weeks to six years old, has retained Harper Dennis Hobbs (HDH) to lead the site selection process for its expansion foray into the United Kingdom.
For this initiative, HDH will actively seek out sites that provide at least 10,000 square feet of space as well as a 10,000-square-foot interactive outside playground. The sites will accommodate the Academy of Early Education’s purpose-built design of its centres which match its six stages of early learning development.
“There is pent-up demand for high quality, secure, early childhood education and childcare in many locations throughout London and its surrounding home counties. Ideally, we are looking for those properties with good transport connectivity, situated within a densely populated – or emerging – area of young families,” said David Harper, chief executive of HDH. “We expect The Learning Experience to have the same success as it has in the United States, and we are pleased to be their advisors.”
With more than 30 years of experience in the early education industry, The Learning Experience currently has more than 180 centres open and operating in the United States, with an additional 120 under development. Approximately 70 percent of the centres are independently owned and operated by local businesspeople.
“The same fervent demand for quality and enriched education seen in the United States is echoed in the United Kingdom, and our proven proprietary curriculum is transferable internationally to positively impact all children during the most critical years of their development,” said Richard Weissman, Chairman and CEO of The Learning Experience. “Our centres have long provided a positive ROI for our franchisees and have added significant twice-daily foot traffic resulting brand exposure to the surrounding businesses within the retail destinations in which we are located.”
HDH is a leading boutique commercial retail real estate advisory company with 45 employees. The company will provide The Learning Experience with various services, including but not limited to, strategic investment advice, location identification, and tenant representation.
With 90 percent of a child’s brain developing within the first five years of life, The Learning Experience places a prominent focus on programs that advance scholastic and social preparation, including its one-of-a-kind L.E.A.P.® (Learning Experience Academic Program) curriculum and enrichment programs. Its well-rounded approach to early education has proven to dramatically impact the lives of young children, producing the following results:
- Early literacy programs at The Learning Experience have more than 95 percent of its preschoolers entering Kindergarten already reading.
- Social programs at The Learning Experience that cover topics such as manners and etiquette (Manners Matter®) allow students to practice positive decision-making and build self-confidence.
- A proprietary philanthropy-focused curriculum at The Learning Experience teaches the core tenets of selflessness, generosity and giving at a young age and encourages children to apply such values in the classroom, at home, and in the community. The Learning Experience’s unique philanthropy curriculum is believed to be the only nationwide curriculum of its kind in the United States.
