ECO FRIENDLY SWEDISH COFFEE CHAIN CONFIRMS UK DEBUT

December 13, 2017

Eco-friendly Swedish coffee shop Wayne’s Coffee has secured its first two UK sites.

KLM Retail, acting exclusively for Wayne’s Coffee and its UK master franchise, agreed two deals to kick start a roll out across the country.

The first two cafés will be located on London’s Kensington High Street and in Ilford near to the new Crossrail station, with negotiations underway for a further six sites to open in the next 12 months.

Wayne’s Coffee was established in 1994 with its first store in Stockholm. It currently operates 140 stores across Sweden, Estonia, Finland, Norway, Cyprus and Saudi Arabia.

The company’s coffee is sourced from sustainable farms in Central America and it offers Organic Coffee, along with an extensive range of organic and vegetarian products, cakes and other own-brand products; including a line of cold pressed juices and vitamin shots.

The coffee house is certified by various EU eco-labels including KRAV, Organic Farming and the Rainforest Alliance for its focus on sustainability. This ethos is extended to cups, cutlery and take-away bags, all of which are fully biodegradable and fits with the brands ambition for all of us to be good ‘planet caretakers’.

Adnan Karim, Wayne’s Coffee’s UK franchisor comments, “We are promoting smart choices.

“Like numerous cities, London embraces responsibly sourced, organic produce that not only delivers great taste but also benefits the environment. These are our values, which is why we are so excited about introducing Wayne’s Coffee to the UK’s capital.”

Ben Clark of KLM Retail comments, “We are well versed at helping brands find a foothold in the UK and very pleased to have secured Wayne’s Coffee’s first two strategic stores. Londoners and visitors alike will embrace the Swedish concept of “Fika” and the brand has ambitious expansion plans that we look forward to assisting further with.”
