Europa Capital, in partnership with Sovereign Centros, has completed a letting to The Food Warehouse at One Stop Shopping Centre in Perry Barr, Birmingham. The letting now completes full occupancy on the retail warehouse park following on from the lettings to JD Sports, Mattressman and The Gym in 2017.
The Food Warehouse, the new food retail concept by Iceland Foods, has signed a 10-year lease for a 14,500 sq ft unit on a new 10-year lease. The occupier is scheduled to commence their fit out this month in time for an April store opening.
Meanwhile, Costa Coffee which signed a new 10 year lease is about to commence the fit out of their 2,320 sq ft restaurant format within the covered shopping mall in preparation for an April 2018 opening. The restaurant will have external seating and sit adjacent to Asda supermarket.
Simon Phipps, Director at Sovereign Centros, said: “We are delighted to be able to announce a fully let retail park at One Stop Shopping Centre. In particular, we have secured an exciting number of new retailers who are bringing innovative formats to One Stop Shopping Centre and making it a compelling draw to local shoppers.”
Rob Sim, Partner and Head of Northern Europe at Europa Capital, commented: “These latest deals once again reinforce One Stop Shopping Centre’s position as the foremost retail destination in this area of the city.”
The Europa Capital and Sovereign Centros partnership acquired One Stop Shopping Centre and adjacent retail park in December 2016. The 380,000 sq ft asset is three miles from Birmingham city centre. The recent announcement of the Commonwealth Games at Birmingham in 2022 and the fact that Perry Barr will see the development of the athletes village directly opposite One Stop Shopping Centre and the Alexandra Stadium being a short distance to the north that will be one of the main venues for events, will undoubtedly see extensive investment flowing into this area.
Other key retailers include Asda, Marks and Spencer, JD Sports, Wilko, Nike, Argos, Boots, New Look, Arcadia and Home Bargains.
