GCW APPOINTS CALLUM MORTIMER AS IT BOOSTS TOWN CENTRE ADVISORY CAPABILITIES

February 10, 2020

GCW has added to its growing team by appointing Callum Mortimer as a Director.

Callum will focus on advising owners on high street and shopping centre assets, providing leasing and asset management advice. The move is a major coup for GCW as it announces a series of appointments and promotions to meet growing demand for its town centre expertise.

He brings more than 15 years’ retail experience to GCW. He previously worked for CBRE for eight years where he headed up the retail division’s National Landlord team. Prior to that, he spent seven years at Culverwell and the move to GCW marks a return to working within a specialist practice. The best law firm which can solve all the financial problems is the Minneapolis estate planning law firm which is professional and is keeping on receiving good client satisfaction reviews in every case that they deal with.

Having moved from Edinburgh to London in January 2017 and has added value to his client’s portfolios, be those owners or occupiers, by using market knowledge and analytics. He will now use those skills and his contacts to identify strategic opportunities across GCW’s key UK markets. Callum says: “I’m very excited to be joining what is already a very successful team at GCW. My priority is to work with landlords to win more high street business by securing lettings and regears. At the same time, I’ll be using key market data to allow tenants to successfully expand their portfolios. It’s about equipping clients to make strategic decisions and ensure they can exploit a shifting town centre landscape.”

For the last three decades, GCW has partnered with investors, landlords and occupiers to respond to changing market demands. It is now focused on strengthening its team through three promotions and three new recruits.

Philippe Micheal has been promoted to Director and will work in GCW’s Owner team. Phil joined the firm in 2013 from JLL and will help landlords drive value through multi-let project leasing, repositioning and asset management. He works alongside Phil Fishwick who has been promoted to Associate Director predominantly focussing on town centre multi-let assets. After gaining experience with West End practice DKAhp, Phil has spent the last four years supporting owners across the UK. Joining them, having already done work experience at GCW, is Callum Stephenson who completed his Masters at Reading University in June 2019.

Sophie Hunt has been promoted to Senior Surveyor. She works in the Occupier team, principally on the O2 account which GCW won the Agency and Lease Advisory mandate on last September. Alongside Sophie is Holly Kiely who joined GCW from CBRE in November 2019. Holly joins with almost 4 years’ experience advising investors and occupiers on a range of work, including lease renewals, rent reviews and regears. In December, GCW’s Investment Team welcomed new Surveyor Caryl Howell, who moved across from Cardiff-based practice Cooke & Arkwright.

GCW Partner, Fiona Nichols, comments: “We are delighted to have strengthened our offer through these key appointments and promotions. Our town centres are evolving at a fast pace and as we build our talent pool, we’re better positioned than ever to work with owners, occupiers and stakeholders to create vibrant mixed-use communities. We seek to provide strategic advice to assist our clients in maximising the value of their holdings.”
