WORKINGTON WIN FOR SOVEREIGN CENTROS

April 22, 2020

Sovereign Centros has been appointed as strategic asset manager by Europa Capital for the Washington Square Shopping Centre in Workington, Cumbria.

Washington Square comprises 250,000 sq ft of shopping and leisure space, is the dominant retail offer in the town and has a 427-space multi-storey car park.

The centre was originally built in 2006 and is anchored by Debenhams, with a strong fashion line up including Next, River Island, JD and New Look. Marks & Spencer links into the centre. The average footfall is approximately 5 million pa.

Chris Geaves, Chief Executive of Sovereign Centros says: “This is a strong regional destination and we will seek to bring in new retail and leisure concepts to strengthen the offer.”

This is the second asset management success for Sovereign Centros in as many weeks and builds on the firm’s position as a leading operator in the UK. Most recently it was appointed by CBRE Global Investors to carry out a similar role at The Ashley Centre in Epsom.
