GCW, on behalf of a private landlord, has launched a prime flagship building in Norwich to the market. The former Debenhams store, named Orford House, is available for sale or lease and is offered as a rarely available large floorplate and mixed-use ‘repositioning’ opportunity in the historic city.
Orford House is one of the largest and most visible buildings in Norwich city centre. Located on a key island site, linking all of the main city centre retailing streets, it comprises 111,723 sq ft (10,379 sq m), arranged over six floors. Due to its central location and high footfall, the building has traded as a highly successful department store for nearly 50 years.
Callum Mortimer of GCW commented: “This former department store is an iconic building and well suited to a range of uses. As well as retail, it could be converted for residential, student accommodation, office or hotel use, subject to the necessary consents. We are open to discussions for the whole property or on a subdivisional basis and very excited to be bringing such a flagship opportunity to the market.”
