KLM REAL ESTATE RESTRUCTURES LEADERSHIP TEAM AS IAN KITCHEN RETIRES

May 4, 2022

KLM Real Estate has restructured its leadership team following the retirement of founding partner Ian Kitchen. Dominic Brady and Ed Gambarini have been promoted to equity partners at the 25 strong company.

James Andrews of KLM Real Estate said: “This is a bittersweet moment for the firm. Ian has lived and breathed KLM since its creation on February 1st 1990 and through his stewardship we have become a major force in the world of retail and leisure property advisory. We have a unique perspective and unrivalled depth of knowledge for an independent firm, working in every sub-sector of the retail market and delivering trusted investment, occupational and development advice to investors and occupiers.

“We look to continue our success by building on Ian’s legacy and we are delighted to add Dom and Ed to our leadership group, bringing with them a fresh dynamism and impetus. They have both made a great contribution to KLM already and that is only set to grow”

Ian Kitchen founded Kitchen La Frenais Morgan as a focused niche retail agency with Max La Frenais and Nick Morgan. It became known as KLM and rebranded in Autumn 2021 to KLM Real Estate to reflect the much broader range of sectors the firm works in.

KLM Real Estate regularly works outside the traditional ‘retail’ sphere and covers areas such as mixed-use urban regeneration, repurposing of retail space, workspace, leisure, food & beverage, and many other specialist alternative use categories. In 2002 it co-founded The International Retail Network, a network of like-minded, independent property advisors with offices throughout Europe and the US, delivering KLM a global reach and international perspective. This and KLM’s significant experience of prime central London projects for investors and new brands has enabled the firm advise on a number of European projects seeking a fresh viewpoint.

It continues to offer market-leading advice in the high street, shopping centre, out-of-town and the outlet centre sectors, together with capital markets both in the UK and internationally.
