REDHILL’S THE RISE NEARS FULL CAPACITY AS FIT OUT BEGINS ON LANDMARK LEISURE FACILITY

February 8, 2023

Redhill’s flagship town centre development, The Rise, has reached 75% letting capacity according to Reigate & Banstead Borough Council which is leading the mixed-use leisure scheme.

With construction of the development drawing to a close, the council has now handed over the facility to its anchor tenant The Light, to begin fit out of the entertainment space. Originally signing to take 35,000 sq ft of cinema entertainment space, The Light has subsequently committed to a further 8,500 sq ft in order to unlock a number of additional leisure offers.

Residents and visitors to the town can now look forward to a six-screen premium cinema, a nine-lane boutique bowling, a retro arcade and mini-golf as well as a couple of more surprise leisure activities which will be unveiled in the coming months.

GCW, acting on behalf of the council, now has just one 3,500 + sq ft ground floor restaurant unit remaining within the scheme and one 13,500 sq ft leisure unit on the first floor.  The town centre property consultants most recently signed restaurant operator Loungers to The Rise, having agreed a 15-year lease on a prime corner 4,600 sq ft unit, significantly adding to the development’s vibrant café and bar scene.

GCW spokesperson Phil Fishwick said: “The pace of lettings at this landmark entertainment destination in the heart of Redhill has been highly encouraging and we’re delighted to welcome Loungers into 2023, with the scheme now 75% let.

“Acting on behalf of the Council, we expect much interest in the final restaurant and leisure units which is well located to take full advantage of this exciting development’s prime retail position in the town centre.”

Centrally located between the High Street and Marketfield Way, The Rise is just a two-minute walk from Redhill train station and promises to bring a whole new entertainment experience to Redhill.    The ground floor centred around an attractive new pedestrian route, boasts a range of places to eat and drink, as well as a Tesco Express convenience store; with more leisure tenants located on the first floor.
