MGI Holdings, advised by GCW, has completed the off-market purchase of the Grants Entertainment Centre in Croydon, south London.
The landmark 160,840 sq ft property is situated in the heart of Croydon’s retail and leisure district and is home to well-known occupiers including Vue, Tokia Square, Nando’s and Nuffield Health.
MGI Holdings plans to embark on an ambitious regeneration of the site to reinvigorate its offering and reinforce Croydon’s position as one of London’s most dynamic suburban centres.
“We are very excited to undertake the regeneration of the Grants Entertainment Centre,” said an MGI spokesperson. “The Grants Centre is a listed former department store steeped in history and now has an exciting chapter ahead. We are looking forward to creating a new leisure hub in the heart of one of London’s fastest growing suburbs.”
GCW has been appointed to handle the leasing with Blackstar RE acting as asset manager. BGP represented the vendor in the transaction.
Last month, MGI Holdings acquired the prime multi-let retail parade at 1/3, 17–19 Haymarket and 4–6 Humberstone Gate in Leicester city centre.
