Capital Shopping Centres has let two units at Eldon Squareshopping centre, Newcastle. Handmade cosmetics chain Lush has opened a 2,700 sq ft store in the centre and shoe retailer Hotter Shoes will move into a 3,000 sq ft shop. The new stores will be located in the main mall next to Boots and opposite anchor store John Lewis.
This will be the first Hotter Shoes shop to feature in CSC’s portfolio while Lush is upsizing and relocating from outside the centre. The Lush store, which opened in August, is a new concept store with a Living Wall that features live Aloe Vera plants growing instore that helps to insulate the store and purify the air.
Martin Breeden, director of asset management (north) at CSC London, said: “Lush has built a loyal fan base of shoppers with its handmade products and Hotter Shoes brings more quality to an already strong range of footwear retailers within Eldon Square. Following the recent opening of the successful Next flagship store, it reinforces Eldon Square as the prime retail location in Newcastle.”
Previously trading as Cosmetics to Go, Lush was founded in 1995 and now has more than 650 stores in over 40 countries. Set up in 1959, Hotter Shoes specialises in stylish footwear with comfort built-in.
Lunson Mitchenall and Sanderson Weatherall acted for CSC. GVA Grimley advised Lush and Savills represented Hotter Shoes.
