Highcross has let 12,500 sq ft at its Juniper Park office and industrial scheme in Southfields Industrial Estate, Basildon to logistics company Schenker Limited.
The company, which already has a warehouse facility at Juniper Park, has taken three suites at the scheme’s Mayne House and Juniper Place office buildings.
Highcross has let the office space to Schenker Limited on a five-year lease. The company is relocating staff from smaller office premises on the Southfields Industrial Estate, following expansion.
Michael Hicks, head of contract management at Schenker Limited said: “The move allows us to bring our expanded Basildon based team together in one location. We have had offices in the town since 2001 and these new premises are convenient for our staff and provide the additional benefit of good parking facilities.”
Highcross acquired the 312,000 sq ft Juniper Park scheme early last year. Located within the Thames Gateway regeneration area, the 14-acre site includes a terrace of three warehouse units, as well as Mayne House and the adjoining Juniper Place office building.
Following the lettings, the Juniper Place offices are now fully occupied and Mayne House has just 4,400 sq ft available. Unit 1, a 127,000 sq ft distribution warehouse at Juniper Park, which is currently being refurbished by Highcross, is also now available to let.
Highcross development surveyor, Tom Gormley added: “Our decision to acquire Juniper Park reflected the strength of the location near the M25, the range of properties and quality of companies already based at the scheme. With its manned 24-hour security, excellent car parking and good quality office space, as well as warehouse accommodation, Juniper Park offers a strong combination of facilities and we are delighted that existing occupier, Schenker Limited, has decided to expand its operations here.”
