French restaurant brand Sushi Shop has agreed a 10-year lease on a unit at 60 Hampstead High Street, north London. Sushi Shop, advised by KLM Retail, has leased the 1,100 sq ft unit from landlord Standard Life Investments, marking the next phase of its UK expansion.
Sushi Shop was founded in Paris back in 1998 and is now established as the European leader in home and office delivery of sushi, sashimi and maki. The deal will allow the brand to launch its fourth London outlet, following openings in Old Brompton, Marylebone and Notting Hill.
London’s Hampstead High Street has attracted a vibrant mix of innovative restaurants and is a natural fit for the French brand looking to expand its UK portfolio. The group now boasts more than 100 outlets across nine countries and sells around 25m sushi boxes a year.
KLM Retail’s, Mostafa Sbitri commented: “Sushi Shop has been very encouraged by the demand for its high quality, fresh sushi at its Marylebone, Notting Hill and South Kensington outlets. This deal will allow the brand to extend its offering to more consumers across the capital and we look forward to its continued growth throughout 2017 and beyond.”
