Lewis Ellis, the market leading specialist investment agency, has strengthened its team with the addition of a new salaried partner and team assistant, whilst internally recognising the performance of two existing members of the team.
Jamie Whitelaw, of Clifton Property Partners (formerly CWM), is joining the Lewis Ellis team as a salaried partner. Whitelaw has significant experience in both in-town retail and retail warehousing, and whilst will be working across all sectors, he will further bolster the company’s retail knowledge following the hire of CBRE’s head of out of town retail capital markets, Charles Watson, in 2020.
The firm has also hired Oxford Brookes property graduate Sophie Levin as a team assistant who joins from Foxton’s, Fulham where she had been a property negotiator since June 2021. Sophie will work closely with the team across all areas of the business.
Internally ,the firm has recognised the performances of James Elkington and Joe Reece, who have been promoted to salaried partner and associate partner respectively. Elkington has been with Lewis Ellis for nine years and involved with many high profile transactions including most recently the acquisition of the Bow and Arrow Portfolios for M7 for £202.5m. Reece joined the firm in January 2021 from BNP Paribas Real Estate and has been particularly active in the London industrial market for clients such as London Metric and Marchmont Investment Management.
Matthew Brown, partner at Lewis Ellis, said: “We are pleased to be able to recruit high quality personnel in Jamie and Sophie to the team. Jamie will be an excellent fit for us with his market presence and technical knowledge. He also has a number of mutual clients where he will be able to continue to expand his remit beyond retail to service their requirements well. Furthermore, it is testament to the hard work of both James and Joe that they have been promoted and it shows our faith in their abilities and levels of client service.”
Jamie Whitelaw commented “I have enjoyed my eight years working at Clifton and will be grateful for the experience and technical foundation the company, and particularly the late John Miles, gave me throughout. Looking forward, Lewis Ellis now presents a new challenge and the opportunity to develop and evolve further as I work with a team of industry leading advisors focussed on client led, cross sector mandates. There is no doubting the company’s stature within the UK capital markets and I am very excited and proud to be a part of the firm and look forward to starting in September.”
