Stevens Properties, advised by Bluebook, has let The Garage, its 17,500 sq ft newly redesigned headquarters office building in Rathbone Street, London W1 to social impact company Wagestream.
The Garage was built in 1905, by the builder Truman Stevens, and was originally home to Albion Motor Car Company as its London depot, serving until the 1920s as offices, showrooms and a repair garage for vehicles made in Scotland.
White Red Architects successfully brought back the building’s original identity combined with a highly contemporary workplace design which delivered office space over 5 floors and introduced exposed concrete ceilings, a pioneering recycled fabric duct cooling system along with four new roof terrace areas.
Represented by CBRE, Wagestream will use the building as its new UK HQ relocating from within Fitzrovia. One of the world’s fastest-growing social impact companies, Wagestream provides services and support designed to improve financial wellbeing – available exclusively to people whose employer uses its financial benefits platform.
Alex Stevens of Stevens Properties commented ‘We’re delighted to welcome Wagestream to The Garage and thank Bluebook for their expertise in leading the design and the marketing which was instrumental in the successful outcome for the building’
An innovative marketing campaign for the building including a centre piece London Concourse-winning 1973 Citroen SM in reception. A unique video marketing and social media campaign that saw engagement from the fashion and design worlds, Hollywood actors, members of Coldplay and motor racing royalty.
The Garage has just been nominated for a BCO award.
